Apparently because I’m a writer, my dog Henry has decided that he’s a writer too. Only he’s taken up poetry because he says that’s classier. Here’s a video of his debut Haiku.
And here’s a link to my debut book, Surviving Henry, which does not contain any poetry but it IS funny.
What reviewers are saying:
“I laughed through the whole book…”
“One of the funniest books I have ever read…”
“Henry’s antics and Erin Taylor Young’s humor had me laughing until the tears were trickling…”
“Put this on your must read shelf!”

August 17, 2014 at 12:26 pm (9 years ago)Erin – I just have to tell you how inspirational you are! I attended your talk at the OKC Christian Fiction Writer’s group and your wit, joy and the KNOWLEDGE that you shared was the proverbial and yes, cliche’ kick in the pants to persevere with the project(s) God has put in place in my life. Can’t put “Surviving Henry” down long enough to get to work, however! So glad to meet you. Kafie

August 26, 2014 at 9:02 am (9 years ago)I just finished a copy of your book I received from Netgalley. I posted my review on goodreads and will be adding it to my blog later this week. I have owned 5 boxers and your book truly touched my heart. I can’t wait to add a hard copy to my collection eventually. You can check out my blog if you ever wish for some stories about my boxers, as well as some of my reviews. Thanks for writing about Henry and give him a hug for me. Also, did you ever find out if something scared him which made him run through the glass window – or was Henry just being Henry?

August 26, 2014 at 8:42 pm (9 years ago)Thanks, Barb! I’m glad you enjoyed the book, and I truly appreciate when folks take the time to write reviews! You have a cool website–and I love how you get your doggies in there. : ) I will absolutely hug Henry for you. : ) And no, we never did figure out why he stormed the window. Just, well, being Henry I guess.

September 23, 2014 at 5:31 pm (9 years ago)Hi Erin, as soon as I saw the picture of Henry on the cover of your book, I knew I had to get it. I grew up with Boxers in England, and my husband and I have had 5 throughout our marriage. I’m reading, and laughing because I can identify with all the antics Henry gets up to. I think we’ve been through them all. I will be sending it on to my brother who has a rescue Boxer right now, and will also identify with you and Henry as well, since he’s had his share of fun!! Thanks for the reminders and laughs.

October 5, 2014 at 7:55 pm (9 years ago)Lesley, thanks so much for writing. I LOVE that you love boxers. How cool that you’ve gotten to share in the lives of so many. And can I confess that I’ve always wanted to go to England? I love the way you folks talk, and your rich history. Maybe one day…
